About The Course

The Certificate Course in Criminal Laws is an intensive eight-week program designed to provide participants with a comprehensive and comparative understanding of India’s criminal law framework. Based on the newly introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) alongside the older IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act, the course offers a structured study of substantive, procedural, and evidentiary laws.

Through sixteen one-hour sessions, learners will explore the evolution, principles, procedures, and practical applications of criminal law — from investigation and trial processes to sentencing and appeals. The curriculum integrates landmark case studies, comparative legal analysis, and contemporary issues such as cybercrime, gender-based offences, and economic crimes.

Designed for law students, practitioners, and researchers, the course aims to strengthen both academic knowledge and practical competence, enabling participants to effectively engage with the dynamic reforms in India’s criminal justice system.
