Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, assigned portfolios to his newly appointed ministers in the State Cabinet.
General Administration, Urban Development, Social Justice and Special Assistance, Relief and Rehabilitation, Irrigation, Environment and Climate Change, Minority Affairs, and Waqf have been retained by the Chief Minister.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been given the all-important portfolios of Home, Finance, and Planning. Mr. Fadnavis has also been assigned the departments of Law and Justice, Water Resources, Housing, Power, and Protocol.
Following Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s approval, the portfolio allocation was implemented. Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil will take over as Minister of Revenue, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Development.
Sudhir Mungantiwar will be in charge of Forests, Culture, and Fisheries.
Chandrakant Patil will be the state’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education. Aside from that, he will be in charge of the Textile and Parliamentary Affairs departments.
Girish Mahajan has been assigned the ministries of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Medical Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs.
Prof. Tanaji Sawant has been assigned to the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare.
Abdul Sattar will be the state’s new Agriculture Minister. Deepak Kesarkar, one of the Shinde-prominent faction’s faces, has been assigned to the School Education and Marathi Language departments.
Atul Save works for the Ministry of Cooperation and Other Backward Welfare. Shambhuraj Desai, the MVA government’s Minister of State for Home, will be the Cabinet Minister for State Excise.
Mangal Prabhat Lodha will be the cabinet minister in charge of Tourism, Skill Development, and Women and Child Development.
