The New Zealand government designated the Proud Boys and the Base as “terrorist organizations” this week, joining the ranks of 18 other groups labeled as such by the country, including ISIS.

It is illegal to fund, participate in, or recruit for terrorist organizations once they have been designated as such. In Canada, the Proud Boys are also designated as a terrorist organization.
