The revenue earned by railways increased by 92% in the passenger segment. The overall approximate earnings of Indian Railways on an originating basis from 1st April to 8th October this year are 33 thousand 476 crore rupees, a 92% increase over the 17 thousand 394 crore rupees earned during the same period the previous year.
In the reserved passenger sector, the overall approximate number of passengers booked from April 1st to October 8th, 2022 is more than 42 crore, a 24 percent increase from the same time last year.
The income produced from the reserved passenger sector this year is 26 thousand 961 crore rupees, up from 16 thousand 307 crore rupees during the same period the previous year, representing a 65 percent rise.
In the unreserved passenger segment, the total approximate number of passengers booked from 1st April to 8th October 2022 is over 268 crore, up from over 90 crores during the same period last year, representing a 197% rise.
The revenue earned from the unreserved passenger sector this year is Rs Six thousand 515 crore rupees, compared to Rs One thousand 86 crore rupees during the same period the previous year, representing a 500% increase.
