Pakistan is Again Playing the Devil's Advocate in Khalistan Militancy - HW News English

Human rights are rights that belong to an individual or group of individuals simply for human beings or as a consequence of inherent human vulnerability. In the interest of human beings, present, and future as well as these values are not just for individuals only but ensure the collective well-being of society.

National and International legal institutions worked hard to protect these rights .deep down the root starting from the natural forces but it was evaluated with legal demands also.

The biggest violation of human rights is war crimes against civilians and nations. Many conventions like ICCPR and even UDHR also stated that war crimes are the violation of human rights through genocide/ bombing, rape, torture, and arbitrary arrest. same as THE KHALISTANI MOVEMENT that was started over a long period of time in India. There are many occasions where people’s rights were violated and came into danger during these movements.

THE HISTORY OF THE KHALISTANI MOVEMENT:-

KHALISTANI MOVEMENT AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION

This movement is a holy war against India and brings the destruction of the Indian state in a welter of communal disturbances.

  1. Starting in the early 1980s, Radical separatists spearheaded a bloody campaign to make a new Sikh state known as Khalistan which means land of pure. The demand arouse just as same as the demand in Pakistan arouses. the khalistani want to add Punjab and some northern parts of India. the Hindu and Sikh war is not a new thing nowadays its roots were very deep down lie in the period of the British era when they usually rebelled against each other.
  2. After Independence in 1947, the tension between Punjab and the central government of India surfaces because there were so many grievances of Sikhs against the Indian government but the government didn’t want to divide India again.
  3. The wounds of the separation of India and Pakistan still not cured was so deep at that time but with some relief Indian government allowed Sikhs to enjoy the religious majority in the stage and separate the population into two new states called Himachal Pradesh and Haryana many resources even the state capital Chandigarh still Punjab is sharing with the Haryana. Sikh religious leaders demanded to want greater powers in the hand of Punjab.
  4. The Era of Clashes start when the Radical Sikh groups start emerging under the leadership of BINDERNWALE and THE NIRANKARI SECT in April 1978 is considered the beginning of the Khalistani movement. Bindranwale and his followers start targeting Hindus and murdered and that violence against civilians across the state spread at a large scale.
  5. This movement peaked in the 1980s-1990s and the violent campaigns include bombings, assassinations, kidnapping, and mass killings of civilians. it spread across international countries also like Canada, deadliest terrorist attacks are done at that time.

According to HUMAN RIGHT WATCH: militants were responsible for numerous human rights cases of abuse for the sake of independent Khalistan

Then, On June 6, 1984, our prime minister INDRA GANDHI ordered an army operation – code-named Operation Blue Star to flush out these militants and Bhindarwale in the golden temple. the fallout from Operation Blue Star resulted in the assassination of Indra Gandhi in October 1984 in New Delhi.

It is not just in India, there are many Sikh pro-activists who spread the agenda and propaganda of khalistani worldwide. Those countries’ government is still unknown to these groups who continuously work to hinder the peace of the nation and violation of human rights.
