Nigel Paul Farage is a broadcaster of British origin and a former politician who had a significant role in founding “Reform UK.” Reform UK is a political party with a right-wing ideology, which earlier under the name of the “Brexit Party” advocated for the separation of the United Kingdom from Europe.
He was invited as a guest of honor at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which is a political conference occurring annually and is attended by right-wing conservative activists as well as elected officials from the United States and other countries. The American Conservative Union is the host for CPAC.
FARAGE’S OPINIONS ON DIFFERENT COUNTRIES
On the night of CPAC’s meeting, Farage described certain countries which have high leftist inclinations. He started by bashing Canada. A woman in the crowd even termed Justin Trudeau a loser. Hearing the woman, Farage smiled and replied that he being in power cannot be termed a loser. He equated Trudeau with a pilot who is taking further the Canadian threat. The next bashing came for Australia followed by New Zealand. He exclaimed that the resignation by Jacinda Ardern is a piece of good news to which the crowd resoundingly cheered him. Next, he came to his country Britain and asserted that the Conservatives in Britain got a massive majority but they are working as liberals focusing on policies like zero carbon.
Next Farage praised incumbent Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who is a right-wing politician. Farage continued his speech by wondering about the reason behind conservatism being more popular in countries like France and Italy in comparison to English-speaking countries. He then answered that the liberalism in English-speaking countries is coming from tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg and the startup founders of San Francisco. He posed immense confidence in Elon Musk to fix the liberals.
FARAGE – AN ADVOCATE OF ANTI-IMMIGRATION
Nigel Farage is against the policy encouraging immigration and multiculturalism as he considers these the root cause of religious violence. He even blames every Westminster Member of Parliament for giving rise to ethnic clashes due to liberal immigration policy.
The tussle between the right wing and the left wing is a never-ending process. While the advocates of the right wing pose deep optimism for conservative values, are patriots to the core and promote the concept of closer community, they at times are averse to change and many times appear unempathetic. On the other hand, the advocates of the left wing are highly pessimistic about conservative values but are strong believers in collective responsibility. Liberalism dwindling in many countries is due to liberals questioning every aspect of social construct and excessively indulging in stopping developmental projects. For a country, it is better to be economically right-wing.
Nordic nations namely, Finland, Netherlands, and Sweden keep their markets liberal and open to be economically stable. The left wing becomes significant in sectors like healthcare and education wherein the government must ensure that all citizens are provided with the best education and healthcare facilities. Here, the special focus must be on those with meager financial resources.
