In this ever-growing technological world, half or let’s say more than half of the people aren’t aware of the recent happenings and causes. Whenever something disastrous happens either it is exaggerated more than needed or simply ignored.
How devastating it is for any place to go through catastrophic events and lose its neighbourhood all at once? Let’s put light on one such horrific incident which took the breath away of the people living in the United States.
LEVELED: RESPONDERS AND RESIDENTS DESCRIBING THE HORROR OF MISSISSIPPI TORNADO DESTRUCTION
As described by its responders and residents the tornado caused destruction which was swift and severe. The deadly tornado swirling took almost 26 lives and left the whole town of Rolling Fork with nothing but dismantled houses.
While taking the interviews the victims who witnessed the situation was still not out of the grievous and dreadful shock they had been through. Some of the women couldn’t even hold their tears rolling down their cheeks while reporting live. The whirlwind was so destructive people are considering it a ‘superstorm’.
The twister left a trail of damage for more than 100 miles. It is reported that dozens have been killed after the dust devil struck Silver City. The amount of loss that’s taken place cannot be, at any cost, recovered. Constant assistance and help are being provided to the twister-hit areas and their people with full attentiveness. It was a really hard day for the survivors as well as the ones who lost their lives.
A survivor named, Tracy, who lost her business mentions her heart-breaking story of how the whirlwind just hit them all the sudden, though they knew there was supposed to be some sort of storm, nobody knew a devilish tornado as big as this would occur by any chance.
The lights started flickering and none of them was at ease after that. After looking at the sky, they were completely sure that this was more serious than they thought it to be. The situation got so worse that they had to spend the whole night in a restaurant cooler to survive the Tornado.
The first responders the next morning search the whole place through the distraction looking for the victim. Todd Terrell, President of United Cajun Navy said, “Rolling Fork is levelled, it is pretty much devastated”.
The gas stations were destroyed all the houses were gone, trees were all over the place and people and stray animals but wandering in the streets in shock and trying to cross what happened.
One resident named Shanta Howard, of Rocking Fork, said, “I thought I was dead”. The tornado, responders and surviving residents, believe that it was going to be catastrophic.
Piles of debris, vehicles that were damaged and broken home furnishings were the only remaining things in Rolling Fork MS. There were community people and emergency rescuers helping and doing their best that could‘ve been done by them. The Mississippi tornado was spine-chilling.
It has terrorised its people. Rolling Fork alone had 13 people dead. The pictures above give us the idea of sheer destruction. All the people at night were escaping into their homes thinking it would be safe which, the other morning turned into mere shredded woods. Responders of the levelled Fork showed baby diapers and products and were heartbroken that they’d lost even the young lives.
The marks on the wall showed how harshly and fast the Tornado hit the Rolling Fork and turned it into levels. The Mississippi Tornado was indeed very destructive and it’s so hard to think of the lives that are lost and how the residents have been holding up. The survivors are in Extreme need of affection and assistance. In times like this, unity is most needed to combat situations which are severely as devastating as this.
