The Anti-Corruption Bureau is looking into a Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) in Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) after the complainant in the ACB case mentioned him as someone who demanded a bribe through his staff.

The departments of eight Deputy Municipal Commissioners (DMCs) have changed at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) as part of a massive reorganization. It’s thought that concerns about slow action against unlawful buildings and other administrative factors led to the decision to switch departments.

The Encroachment Department, which was previously under DMC Ambarish Patnigere, has now been assigned to Zone-1 DMC Somnath Potre. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) allegedly caught one of DMC Patnigere’s clerks collecting a Rs 5 lakh bribe on his behalf last month.

DMC Dr. Shriram Pawar, who formerly handled the Licencing Department, has also been given additional responsibilities as DMC Nitin Narvekar takes over the General Administration Department.

Deputy Commissioner Dilip Nerkar, who was recently assigned to the NMMC, has been given major responsibility for the Parks and Trees Authority Department, as well as an additional duty in the Legal Department. Previously, DMC Nitin Narvekar was in charge of the Parks Department as well.

Dr. Babasaheb Rajale, Deputy Commissioner of the Solid Waste Department, will now head the Clean Maharashtra Mission Cell, Disaster Management Cell, and Security Department. Yogesh Kaduskar, General Manager of the Transport Department and also in charge of the Education Department, has been relieved of his dual responsibilities. DMC Anant Jadhav will now be in charge of the Education Department.

Deputy Commissioner Mangala Malve’s duties in the accounts department have not altered. These modifications were made, according to the directive from Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, to improve the efficiency of government operations and streamline administrative tasks.
