Introduction

Time has passed since we debated to make possible the way for women’s rights, and we have succeeded in various areas to ensure women’s rights. It took a long period to materialize, at least on paper, the Great Concept, which is inherent to human instinct, Equality among Genders.

From the manifestation of “faith in fundamental human rights”, “in the dignity of the human person”, “in the equal rights of men and women”, and “of Nations large and small” in the preamble of the UN Charter and similarly, in supreme legislation and other legislations derive from it, almost the states have been addressing women’s status as an issue of discrimination about human rights[1]. We have real Questions about how to realize these rights to empower women and to give their due rights in practice as well.

Equality and its positivity

Let’s take a brief look at areas where I think there is a grave need to look at, to materialize women’s rights in its letter and spirit. Firstly, Access to Education is one of the important rights in this regard. As education mushrooms the possibility that ladies will look after their stake ahead with that of their family. Even today women are not allowed to take education and higher education due to the social norms and taboos associated with this. In short, they don’t have their due right access to education. Secondly, women’s socio-economic rights are also vulnerable and need keen attention to be realized.

The socio-economic rights include the right to food, shelter, healthcare and employment. In a renowned journal, it is argued, “one of the most important factors that realize the development ratio in each country is according to women’s participation in different contexts, consistency of economical, social, political contexts. Women’s employment as one of the factors for economic development can be considered and that can show as a brilliant sight for future”[2].

There are further rights associated with socio-economic rights such as the right to paid work. There is solid evidence available to show that strategic development is also associated with women’s right to paid employment.

Thirdly, women’s civil and political rights are also a matter of great concern for all human rights activists. This includes their political representation, right to contest elections, right to vote etc. The list goes on but these rights on paper are subject to realization by society and Legislative policy, which is lacking and policymakers should look at this issue to guarantee women their due dignified status.

Violence, Sexual violence and sexual Harassment

Many  Societies are immature of women because the treatment they do with women is like an alien to their planet. Every day comes as a shock for women, children, transgender & other marginalized persons with the horrific stories of sexual violence. Women are subject to domestic violence, sexual harassment and other such like sexual violence etc. This attitude needed to be changed to a peaceful and harmonized society. These offences are offences against the privacy, dignity and liberty of a woman. Almost all the constitutions of the world are consistent to make such violations void and penalized.

Conclusion

Equality and Equal opportunity for women without discrimination are their rights and duty to be performed by the rest of individuals. Many efforts have been made to give them their due rights and many milestones in regard to policymaking and Legislative measure has been taken by virtue of this. Now the question of fact is, “How these Rights could be realized?” This issue needed to be solved.
