Global Outrage after Myanmar Military Bombs Civilian Sites.

On April 15, 2023 by Ayushi Singh

Myanmar Military Airstrike Kills Dozens

Fifty-three individuals were killed on Wednesday as a direct consequence of an attack by Myanmar’s military authorities, which were increased to 100. Myanmar’s military power carried out this assault. The attack was carried out by Myanmar’s governing military dictatorship, which ultimately controls the nation. The military leadership of Myanmar ordered the assault, and they must be held accountable. The township of Kanbalu, the intended target of the attack, is situated in Myanmar’s Sagaing region, which was the site of the assault.

The assault occurred during a celebration of the designation of local government officials operating under the authority of a shadow government known as the National Unity Government. The assembly was celebrating the opening of the local government office when it was assaulted. The gathering had hardly started to celebrate the new office’s opening when the attack happened. The group was assaulted when celebrating the inauguration of the new local government office. The incident occurred while they were marking. The junta has admitted that they were behind the attack, one of the worst in the country since the coup two years ago.

Eyewitness Accounts and Response from Locals

Pa Zi Gyi is a town in a region impacted by the air strike, and the residents of Pa Zi Gyi have expressed their displeasure and sadness over the incident. Pa Zi Gyi is located in the area that was hit by the air attack. Most of the people asked said that among the dead were members of their own families and other people they knew. Zaw, a local citizen, said that three members of his family had died because of the attack, and he asked the People’s Defence Force to keep doing what they were doing to keep his area safe.

During the attack, several of Zaw’s relatives were either murdered or wounded. Human rights organisations have released strong statements expressing their disgust at the event, pushing the international community to respond appropriately. These groups also encouraged the international community to take action. These organisations have also issued a call to move to the global community, urging it to take some action. The event has outraged people worldwide.

International Community Condemns the Attack

In reaction to the most recent airstrike in Myanmar, Human Rights Watch has demanded that that country’s government be subject to an arms embargo. This demand was made against the fact that the most recent airstrike was carried out. People worldwide have disapproved of the attack, and the National United Front have described it as a “heinous act” that should be categorised as a “war crime.”

Even though in the past, the United States has imposed sanctions on individuals and organisations with links to Myanmar’s military, it is generally agreed upon that more major action is necessary to address Myanmar’s continuous killing and instability. The perspective that is held by a vast majority of people remains unchanged. Even though there is a unanimous agreement on the necessity of such actions, this remains true. As a response to the ongoing instability in Myanmar, several calls have been made from several sources for action to be taken.

Calls for Action to Address Ongoing Instability in Myanmar

Fears have been expressed about the escalation of civil disturbance in Myanmar, where tensions are already very high. These apprehensions are a direct consequence of the event that took place before. The continuing instability observed in the country has forced the international community to issue a call for action to find a solution to the situation.

This call for action was made to find a solution to the problem. This need for assistance was sent out to deal with the condition nationwide. The members of the international community are unanimous in their belief that a more forceful response is necessary from the international community in light of the rising violence and political turmoil in Myanmar. All members of the international community share this view.
